Hyundai Sales Up 11 Percent for March Setting New All-Time Record

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America today announced March sales of 40,063 vehicles, a new record for the month. The results represent an 11 percent increase over March 2004, and a 13 percent increase over the first quarter 2004. Leading the way were Sonata, winner of the J. D. Power Award for Initial Quality in the entry-level mid size segment, which set an all-time monthly record with 11,373 units, and the Tucson entry level SUV which continues to gain momentum with 4,604 sales, also a record.
"We are very pleased with the first quarter results," said Ed Bradley, Hyundai's vice president, national sales. "We achieved a 13 percent increase in a very challenging market. We're poised to continue this momentum as we begin production of the all new 2006 Sonata at our brand new assembly plant in Montgomery, Alabama."

All Hyundai cars and sport utility vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty. Hyundai buyers are protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection.
